At the Burscough Town Council meeting held on the 18th December 2024, Councillors discussed an item on the agenda regarding a proposal for the further involvement of local non- profit organisations, charities clubs and groups, within the area of Burscough in spending part of its Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) money receipts during the next twelve to eighteen months.

It was proposed and agreed unanimously at the meeting that the Town Council would ask for bids from such local organisations for up to a maximum amount of £125,000 of this money. Application forms are available on the Burscough Town Council website: – https://burscoughtc.org.uk

A shortlist of eligible projects will be drawn up and it may be the case that all the projects on the short list are deemed worthy of an award, the combined total is still within the maximum of £125,000.

There are strict Government criteria laid down as to what this money can be spent on; therefore, any applications must strictly adhere to these criteria, but basically, it is for “the provision, improvement, replacement and operation of infrastructure. It can be used to increase the capacity of existing infrastructure if that is necessary to support development.”

To make a bid, local organisations (based in Burscough) must complete an application form below or by emailing Burscough Town Council Clerk:-  Jackie.maguire@burscoughtc.org.uk

The closing date for applications will be 2nd. May 2025.
